Melboune, FL - The Florida Tech Panther’s football game against the West Alabama Tigers will be a nationally televised on CBS Sports Network, Florida Todayreports.
The game is slated for 8 p.m. Thursday, September 19 at Palm Bay High’s Pirate Stadium in Melbourne, FL. The nationally televised game is FIT’s first-ever for its 21 varsity sports.
This game is the first-ever game in the Gulf South Conference for the Panthers. This match was one of the six selected from the Division II Thursday night broadcast schedule. Seven of 12 teams chosen appeared in last year’s NCAA Division II Championship.
“It’s an honor for NCAA Division II and CBS Sports Network to select the third game of our inaugural season as one of its Thursday night nationally televised games,” head coach Steve Englehart said. “It’s going to be a tough challenge to play the defending Gulf South Conference Champion West Alabama, but our coaches and players will be extremely excited to showcase their skills and represent FIT on a national stage.”
