Florida Tech Among ‘Best Colleges for Veterans’

Florida Institute of Technology is among the nation’s Best Colleges for Veterans, according to the 2015 rankings from U.S. News & World Report. In its second year providing these rankings U.S. News & World Report again recognized Florida Tech for its support of veterans, active-duty servicemembers and their dependents.

To be ranked by U.S. News, universities must be certified for the GI Bill®, belong to the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) Consortium and participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program.

At Florida Tech, military students can also access benefits including:

  • Special military tuition rate of $250 per credit hour for active-duty servicemembers, selected Reserves, National Guard servicemembers and their spouses
  • 10% savings on undergraduate tuition rates for veterans and their spouses, as well as dependents of deceased or disabled veterans
  • 10% savings on graduate tuition rates for active duty, selected Reserves, National Guard,  Veterans and their spouses, as well as dependents of deceased or disabled veterans
  • Military personnel can exit and re-enter online programs without penalty during temporary duty assignments.

“It’s a tremendous honor to once more be recognized for supporting our servicemembers,” said Brian Ehrlich, Associate Vice President of Online Learning at Florida Tech, which is also ranked a Tier 1 Best National University by U.S. News and has been named as “military-friendly” by G.I. Jobs.

Florida Tech’s 100% online degree programs and for-credit graduate certificates offer 24/7 access to downloadable professor-led video lectures from a desktop, laptop or mobile device, powered by Bisk Education.

Military students can choose from dozens of in-demand undergraduate and graduate programs available online, including multiple Master of Business Administration specializations, Information Technology/Cybersecurity, Supply Chain Management, Criminal Justice and Homeland Security.

“It’s a point of pride for us to be able to deliver high-quality, convenient education to active-duty servicemembers and veterans,” Ehrlich said.
