Apply for Government-Backed Assistance

Financial aid can come from a variety of sources, including federal loans and grants, and state loans, grants and scholarships. The Financial Aid office will use the information on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine your eligibility for federal student aid.

9 out of 10 Florida Tech Students Who Apply for Aid Qualify

Based on an internal survey from Fall 2014 by our Office of Enrollment Management, we found that over 90% of all financial aid applications submitted by Florida Tech Students (Online and Campus-based) qualified for some type of aid.

Undergraduate & Graduate Financial Aid Options

FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is used to apply for federal student financial aid, including grants, loans and work-study.  Federal student aid programs are the largest source of student aid in America, providing over $150 billion a year in assistance. Take advantage of this opportunity by completing the FAFSA today!

Federal Direct (Stafford) Loans

Federal Direct Loans must be repaid and are available to both undergraduate and graduate students. Amounts increase for subsequent years of study, with higher amounts for graduate students. If you qualify (based on need) for a subsidized Federal Direct Loan, the government will pay the interest on your loan while you are in school.

If a parent applies and does not qualify for a Parent Plus loan, the student may receive additional unsubsidized Federal Direct loans.

Federal Pell Grants

Federal Pell Grants are available to undergraduate students only. Grants do not have to be repaid. The maximum Pell grant for the 2016-2017 award year (July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017) is $5,815.
