Florida Tech has secured its spot as one of the best e-learning providers in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report’s first-ever ranking of top online programs. In recognition of the growing number of online students, U.S. News initiated the report to bridge the information gap many prospective students have when it comes to selecting an online program that holds the same academic standards as traditional campus-based programs.
The highest distinction in the rankings is the U.S. News honor roll, which recognizes programs scoring within the top one-third in three categories: Faculty Credentials and Training, Student Services and Technology, and Teaching Practices (Student Engagement and Assessment). Florida Tech’s 100% online bachelor’s degree program was one of only four to earn this prestigious honor, with the university’s graduate business programs being one of just 14 to make the grade.
Florida Tech, powered by the technologies of University Alliance, creates highly interactive online programs that maximize student engagement through simulations, streaming video, live webinars and more. The university offers 36 degrees online within a wide array of disciplines, including accounting, finance, business, marketing, internet marketing, computer technology, criminal justice, liberal arts, applied psychology, project management and healthcare management.
“Our goal has always been to provide online students with the same quality education our main campus students receive,” says Dr. Mary S. Bonhomme, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean, Online Learning. “These rankings are validation of that, and we’re thrilled to be recognized for our commitment to online excellence.”
